Sexu's safety assessment requires evaluating two layers: the aggregator itself and the source sites it redirects to. As of April 2026, Sexu runs HTTPS encryption on all pages and has a lighter ad footprint than most standalone tubes. No account is required, no billing information is collected, and no premium tier exists. The aggregator layer is reasonably safe.

The complication is the redirect model. Every video click sends you to an external tube site where the content is actually hosted. These source sites vary dramatically in safety profile. We clicked through to 25 different source tubes from Sexu results and found 4 (16%) had aggressive ad behavior including auto-redirect attempts and pop-under storms. The remaining 21 sites ranged from clean to moderately ad-heavy. Sexu has no control over the ad practices of its source sites.

We ran Sexu's primary domain through VirusTotal and Google Safe Browsing in April 2026 - clean on both services. The ads on Sexu itself were limited to banner placements and occasional interstitials with no malicious behavior detected across 30 testing sessions. This is notably better than most free tubes.

For safe browsing with Sexu: install an ad blocker before visiting and keep it active. The blocker protects you on both Sexu and whichever source site you land on. Avoid clicking any download buttons or software install prompts on source sites - these are always ads, never legitimate features. Use incognito mode if privacy matters since source sites set their own tracking cookies independently. The aggregator model is inherently less predictable than a self-hosted tube, so consistent ad-blocker usage is the single most important safety measure.
