Locanto scores 4/10 on our safety review as of March 2026. It's a classified ads platform - think Craigslist but more internationally focused - and the safety concerns are different from a typical porn site. The issue isn't malware or billing fraud from the platform itself, it's the risk profile of the transactions and contacts that happen through it.

Here's where it gets interesting: locanto.com runs HTTPS correctly, has a readable privacy policy, and processes no direct billing for most listing types. The platform itself is reasonably built for a classified site. But classified ads in the adult services and companion sections are where the safety questions concentrate. As of March 2026, Locanto operates in a regulatory gray area in multiple countries after similar platforms faced Section 230 and related legal challenges. Locanto requires email registration to post or contact users, which creates a real identity exposure risk if you're using your primary email. Our testing found display advertising on the site but no aggressive redirects or malware events. The UX is functional and not ad-heavy by the standards of this category. What we found that most users don't realize: Locanto listings in some categories are heavily populated with bots and fake profiles designed to collect email addresses or redirect to off-platform payment processors.

Billing: Locanto's basic directory use is free. Premium listing boosts cost money but are not required. We couldn't verify independently how solid the payment processing security is for premium listings, since we didn't purchase any during our testing.

For directory browsing only, Locanto is manageable. For any contact with listed advertisers, use a throwaway email - not your primary one. Be skeptical of any listing that moves off-platform quickly to WhatsApp or Telegram and requests payment before meeting. Use a prepaid card if any transaction is involved. The 4/10 score reflects the platform's mixed signals: decent infrastructure, genuinely risky user environment.
